Draft Scenario 3.0 - New York Jets

Probably the most outrageous Mock scenario that I can come up with, so enjoy this "what if" scenario:

New York Jets have 2 starting positions to fill with this draft at WR & CB so lets fill these needs...

Jets own the 18th pick and could look to trade up...

Combining the 18th pick, 80th(3rd) pick & 2015(2nd & 3rd) picks to move into the Cleveland's current 4th Overall Pick(or whomever holds this pick then) to select Sammy Watkins from Clemson...

We still have our 2nd(49th), 3-4ths, 5th, 4-6ths & 7th to work with... Taking our 2nd we could stand pat or use Tampa's 4th along with our 5th to move back into the 1st round (Seattle 32nd Pick)to grab whichever of this CBs are still on the board: Justin Gilbert/Bradley Roby, that is if either are on the board...

Otherwise standing pat at 49th could allow us to grab CB Jason Verrett, Marcus Roberson, Pierre Desir or go in another secondary need an grab FS Jimmie Ward, so possibilities are endless...

Lets say we make the move to trade with Seattle, so now we traded up to the 4th to grab Sammy Watkins and now traded up back into the last pick of the 1st Round to grab our CB Justin Gilbert or Bradley Roby... Now we sit with a good group of additional selections to still fill other needs throughout or roster ( 4th RD: 115, 137C, 6th RD: 195, 209C, 210C, 213C, 7th RD: 233)...

With the 4th round 115th selection we can grab TE/BE Arthur Lynch from Georgia... Our compensatory pick 137 we invest in OT/OG Brandon Thomas from Clemson, sign & IR him...

Now we used the 5th in the trade, but want to move back in the 5th round pick 172 owned by the Seattle Seahawks trade our 195th(6), 233rd(7) and 2015(7) so we can grab OW De'Anthony Thomas to bolster our backfield...

We still have our 3 compensatory 6th rounds...

Depending on how we go with the second round pick will determine what we do here... So lets say we moved up to grab the CB, now have a need for safety...

Safety Dezmen Southward from Wisconsin looks like a very good possibility... Believe the Jets are looking for a backup center and could be Oklahoma's Gabe Ikard or Tennessee's James Stone as possibilities... Finally we need to invest into some depth for the linebacker position, Ron Powell DE/OLB from Florida looks like a good candidate...

In this scenario the final results could end up like this:

4th: WR Sammy Watkins
32nd: CB Justin Gilbert/Bradley Roby
115th: TE/BE Arthur Lynch
137th: OT/OG Brandon Thomas (IR)
172nd: OW De'Anthony Thomas
209th: FS Dezmen Southward
210th: OC Gabe Ikard
213th: DE Ron Powell

Would actually be a good haul of talent and give the Jets a chance to over throw New England this upcoming season...

If the Jets stand pat in the 2nd Round and select FS Jimmie Ward with the 49th selection, then with Tampa's 4th & our own 5th now back in our draft pocket we can now use these picks to either move back into the 3rd Rd (91st pick Saints)...

Back end of the 3rd Round we could grab CB Phillip Gaines, Keith McGill or Louchiez Purifory to fill this need...

McGill & Gaines have a chance to be open day starters with good training camps, so would be a steal here...

So switching the outcome a bit the new other look this scenario's final result could look like this:

4th: WR Sammy Watkins
49th: FS Jimmie Ward
91st: CB Phillip Gaines/Keith McGill/Louchiez Purifoy
115th: TE/BE Arthur Lynch
137th: OT/OG Brandon Thomas (IR)
172nd: OW De'Anthony Thomas
209th: TE Ted Bolser
210th: OC Gabe Ikard
213th: DE Ron Powell

Either way that 2nd Round pick plays out we still could end up with two very good scenarios...
